TREND ALERT: Velvet
Its so soft, looks special, and it pretty much can be worn on any article of clothing from top to bottom.  I have linked some of my favorite velvet pieces below.

What is today? Its December 1, the official start to Christmas.  I know everyone has been decorating and celebrating already but now come the holiday/ Christmas parties.  But what to wear to these casual gatherings?  I always say go for a dressy dark wash pair of jeans.  These are my favorites from Kut from the Kloth, they have a high rise and you get to size down, can I get a hell YES!  Then pair them with a simmer top in any of the jewel tone colors, like the one I styled, putting a little shimmer on top is the perfect way to celebrate the holidays.  If you need a little more coverage just throw a fun blazer over it.  Then you could go from work to play just like that.  I am obsessed with these long layering beads, hope to have a link for them soon.  They are not expensive and lengthen any shape.

Then my favorite part, adding the velvet.  You could do this in so many ways.  I have chosen the classic black blazer.  But you could add a fun shoe with a sparkle heal or velvet jogger to go with your gold sparkle top.  Whatever you do have fun with your holiday style.  You don’t have to wear a cocktail dress to look dressed up.
