Taking it back old school this Valentine’s Day. For me Valentine’s Day has always been about remembering how to be romantic and showing your family and friends how much you love them all year long. This year I get to celebrate this love-ly holiday with my boyfriend. Yes, thats right peps I have a boyfriend! He is so sweet and I can’t wait to be all lovey dovey and romantic with a weekend filled with dinners, a movie, some pampering, and then a Valentine’s Day brunch before I head off to Vegas for another market.
The old school reference I am making about Valentine’s is about how Valentine’s day started. It first was a liturgical celebration of an early saint named Valentinus. He was imprisoned for marrying soldiers to their forbidden loves and ministering to persecuted christians. Later this holiday was a day for lovers to expressed their love for one another with flowers, confectionary, and sending greeting cards called Valentine’s. I just think giving little gifts that smell nice and taste good keep this holiday light and fun. Making memories and showing your love for one another in words and actions is so much more thoughtful and meaningful. So tell your family, friends, and love how much you care and love them this Valentine’s Day.
