had a fun and hot last week on the road. I traveled the southern coast of South Carolina, Georgia, and the top of Florida. What a fun time exploring and visiting each town. I wanted to tell you I fell in love this week, with Savannah, Ga. Here are some details from my stay in the perfectly southern city.
I tried Hotwire for the first time. If you travel and need a break for Hampton Inn, I do love to get those points though, get on hotwire and find great deals for amazing hotels. My tip is only bid on the hotels with 100-90% recommended. I hit the jackpot my first time with a night stay at The Andaz Savannah. This boutique hotel is amazing and worth any trip to Savannah just to stay here. When I was checking into my room, Paula Dean, yes the souths best cook ever, was on a carriage ride right outside, I mean what a welcome to Savannah, right?
I was welcomed with local cookies and flavored ice water, its very hot in Savannah. The rooms are beautiful and my view was amazing, looked right over Ellis Square. The restaurant and bar downstairs was poppin and has one of the best bartenders/ mixologist in the south. I had a great night sleep after exploring this quaint city. The next morning I had a wonderful and fresh farm to table breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Complete with fresh mixed berry jam, straight from the garden carrot salad, and cured meats and cheese. What a great start to the morning, right?
After visiting a few very cute local stores such as Nola Jane, Harper Boutique and Red Clover, more details about these shops at a later date, I grabbed a coffee from this precious walk up coffee shop and cafe The Collins Quarter and headed to Jacksonville, Fl.
I hope everyone gets some great travel ideas for your next trip to Savannah, Ga. I can’t wait to return in a couple months for even more exploration and restaurants to try. Have a safe and fun Memorial Day weekend. I will be shooting the hootch in Atlanta. Wish me luck.
