This post is about self discovery! It is about coming to the understanding that we are all differently and wonderfully made. I was so excited to see that People Style Watch instagram had posted one of my pictures! It was the perfect ending to a not so good Friday. When I was that picture with all the likes and kind words written under it, touched my heart and I was filled with happiness and sadness.
The sadness was that I have always struggled with body image. I keep most of it inside, but it was always there. I have always been a thick, curvy, healthy girl. From the time I was in high school I was self conscience about my body from the waist down. I am a pear shape and my hips, butt, and legs are very curvy! It was something I hated about myself. I wanted to be thin so badly, I would do things not healthy for my body and never really get the results I wanted. Why? Because that is not the way I am supposed to look. I am a full figured, pear shape, curvy woman. My happiness came when I saw the #loveyourshape campaign. I knew I wanted to flag my pictures to show how I love my shape. I am proud of my curves and know they make up this wonderful, healthy, and beautiful body that God gave me.
Through this process of blogging and becoming a fashion/lifestyle blogger I have decided not to physically edit any of my pictures. What you see is what you get with me. I have said it many times before, I want to inspire women to get dressed with confidence each morning. Love their bodies the way they should are at any stage of life you may be in. We are all made differently and thats a good thing. How boring would it be if we all looked the same. Don’t let social media, the fashion industry, clothes, or yourself get you down. Clothes are not going to fit everyone perfectly, you have to make them work for you! I wish I would have known that long ago.
To all the fashionistas and bloggers out there, it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there for all to see. Getting dressed for success and inspiring women to do the same. So thank you for inspiring me to take a risk and put myself out there. I am so proud to be part of this amazing community where there are no limits to what you can do and who you can be!
